From May 8 2018 on, the Vectron locomotives of the CD started to haul EuroCity trains from Prague to the railway stations of the capital city of Berlin and the Hanseatic city of Hamburg. Operationally, this has big advantages, as there is no need to change the locomotives any more. Even the city of Kiel became part of the train network and can now be reached with the EC "Porta Bohemia". 10 locomotives are rental locomotives from the company ELL. Since spring 2018, 8 locomotives and a vehicle in reserve are intended to be used in front of Eurocity-trains. The tenth locomotive is used in Czechoslovakia and hauls trains on the lines between Prague and Ustí nad Labem.
