The first machines started operating in May 2002. They can be used with alternating current 15 kV / 16? Hz in Germany and Austria and 25 kV / 50 Hz in Hungary. So they are also suitable for the international traffic. The locomotives are lovingly named "Puszta-Ochsen" among railroad friends and travel through the country with the designation Re 470 today.
