Prototype: The Austrian 429 Class 2-6-2 steam locomotive was designed for both freight and express traffic for the Royal Austrian Railroads in 1909. Like the 580, it was designed by Karl Gölsdorf. The 429 was used for mostly freight and some express service on the "Tauernbahn" a mountainous route stretching from Munich Germany through Austria all the way down to Italy.

Model: The model of the 429 is handmade in brass; it features full cab interior, functional boiler hatch with full boiler details, and a brush-less, ironless bell shaped motor. This model is a masterpiece and it features too many technical and optical details to list. Please keep in mind that quantities are extremely limited, so we recommend that you not wait too long because they will sell rapidly. Micro Metakit will produce seven versions; a total of only 400 will be made. We expect to take delivery sometime in December. This model will sell really well so order as soon as possible.
