Although the vehicle had previously existed only as a prototype and had not yet been extensively tested, DB Schenker decided on more than 130 locomotives for the Gravita® 10BB in its 2007 tender. The commissioned DB machines are now fully produced and delivered, they are under the class designation BR 261 nationwide in use.
