Finally, by placing the motor in the boiler with traction tires vs. the traditional cramming everything into the tender, Trix has produced an engine that is strong enough to pull 35+ weighted rolling stock up a 3% grade. Before, with everything in the tender it was not possible to get the weight necessary to pull long consists. Now, it’s not an issue. An annoying aspect, however, is that the running sounds are defaulted to “momentary “ Meaning you have to hold down the button for sound. There is a way to disable it, but why is it a default? Also, if using Decoder Pro, the correct decoder is not in their library. You have to use an ad hoc Marklin decoder to adjust sound levels and engine running number. With that said, the engine is fantastic and I highly recommend it.
