| The advantages: very reliable coupling with soft coupling force. When coupled, the coupler appearance is slim and lean. Push-pull operations are easy and safe. These are short couplers, almost buffer to buffer gap. Cars can be uncoupled by lifting, like the Fleischmann PROFI or American knuckle couplers.
Disadvantages: this coupler is not compatible with any other type of coupler, so all rolling stock to be coupled together must have the same type of coupling, or you may need an adapter car. Do not exist any digitally operated compatible coupler, the uncopling must be done manually or by a uncoupling track. Visually, a stand-alone coupler may look too long for some people. |
