Prototype: The BR57 locomotive was actually based on the Prussian series G10 locomotive first built in 1910 and featuring an 0-10-0 wheel arrangement. Nearly 3000 locomotives were built. Prussia was the single largest territory in Germany until it was, as a state, abolished by the Nazis in 1934. During the war the German Wehrmacht used many BR 57's for the German War effort. Many were camouflaged and some were used in fully armoured Panzer Trains. The BR 57's stayed in service until the early 1970's

Model: To create the BR 57 we use a Roco locomotive. The Roco locomotive features a DCC interface, can motor with flywheel, all metal frame, bi-directional prototypical lighting and extensive detail. Model has detail and great running performance. Our REI Military model is professionally hand-painted and thus unique. He is also former US Army paratrooper and has garnered over 300 awards for his work.
