Product Features and Details
New for 2026: In 1922, a new electric locomotive for the Bavarian branch of the German Reichsbahn was included in the procurement program for the German Reichsbahn (German State Railway) for demanding passenger train service on electrified lines. It was designated as Class E5 (Era 5).
The drive system of the 35 locomotives was divided into two groups, each with two motors. Other particularly striking features of the locomotives are the continuous long frame and the distinctive box-shaped body with chamfered corners. 29 locomotives were transferred to the DB (German Federal Railway) after World War II, with the last locomotive of the class being retired from active service in 1973.
This is a printed version of the DB Class E52 with a black chassis in Era III. The sound version of the model comes equipped with a PIKO sound decoder and the largest possible speaker.
