Product Features and Details
At the beginning of the century, the Saxonian state railway ordered a heavy mixed traffic tender locomotive from the engine manufacturer Hartman in Chemnitz. The locomotives which were first delivered in 1910 proved so successful that further orders were placed until 1923 so that a total of 137 locomotives were built. The locomotives were used both for heavy shunting services in stations, for shunting operations in large shunting yards as well as in passenger and goods services on branch lines. They also proved valuable on steep railway grades.
