Novelty 2026: Prototype-accurate Diesel Locomotive BR 216 for N Scale Model Railways, Era IV, with Sound
With the BR 216 in blue/beige DB livery, PIKO brings an iconic diesel locomotive of Era IV to the N-scale layout in a sound-equipped version. Built from 1964, the BR 216 series was a single-engine mainline diesel locomotive designed for medium-duty service of the Deutsche Bundesbahn. The 214 locomotives were equipped with 1,400 kW MTU engines, reached speeds of 120 km/h, and were suitable for express and passenger trains, as well as freight trains thanks to the low-speed gear. The model impresses with high detailing, excellent running characteristics, and high-quality sound equipment.
