Prototype:
Krupp built these impressive locomotives in 1923. They were tested by the Reichsbahn and then put into express service. With their large drivers and powerful turbines these locomotives were able to reach speeds of over 130 Km/h. Also since they were equipped with large condenser tenders they we able to travel long distances without have to stop for water as frequently as regular steam locomotives.
Model:
Because of the extensive detail and highly raised boiler producing this model we be a real challenge. The frame of this locomotive will also be very complicated because of all the partitions. Micro Metakit Claims that the Krupp T-18 will be one of the most complicated and intricate pieces yet and we can't wait to get our hands on one. New technology was used due to the extensive boiler, frame and piping work. The manufacturing process required over 700 molds and 2,000 parts! The model features a functional replicated turbine drive, full cab interior, under frame braking systems, interior boiler detail and brush less can motor.
