Since its launch in 2010, Siemens' Vectron has been sold to more than 300 rail companies in Europe, and more variants are added every year. Like the role model, the model of Hobbytrain is always kept up to date. The model shows the first own SBB Vectron, belonging to the "Location Series", named "Duisburg".
Prototype: SBB Cargo International is a rail transport company operating predominantly on the north-south corridor between the North Sea ports and northern Italy, with its own RU licenses in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Italy. SBB Cargo International is moving with approx. 135 locomotives (as of 01.12.2016) more than 30,000 trains per year. By May 2018, all 18 new Vectron locomotives will be delivered. The series is named after the locations of SBB Cargo International on the north-south axis. By the end of February 2018, two of the Vectron locomotives 193 461 ("Olten") and 193 462 ("Gallarate") will be in operation on the entire north-south axis. Hobbytrain brings the third name variant "Duisburg".
