Prototype:
The Class 151 of the German Railways is a heavy duty 6-axle electric locomotive that was built in the 1970s as a replacement for the aging Class 150's. The 151 quickly proved itself in mainline freight service, and became an iconic German freight locomotive from era IV and V. One hundred and seventy 151s were built from 1972 to 1978. They have an 8400 HP rating and reach a maximum speed of 75 MPH (120 KPH). They were originally used as dual purpose locomotives but soon came to be used exclusively for freight trains; a role they serve in until today.
