Based on: In 1928 and 1929, the shunting locos of class 80 were delivered to the DRG from the companies of Hohenzollern, Union, Wolf and Jung. In the first instance, they were designed for shunting duties in the large stations of Cologne and Leipzig. Apart from one engine, all of them survived the second World War.
