Kit for a bucket chain excavator. The excavator grabs the ground materials in the buckets of the endless chain and deposits them in waiting train cars. A powerful motor usually drives the chain.
This model has no power unit, however, all elements of the archetype from the firm »Orenstein & Koppel« are detailed in the model: boom with buckets (45° swivel), operator cabin, pulley head with cable restraint and a wooden box for balancing weights. The sideways swivel of the model requires normal H0 tracks without ballast (not included) by means of metal axles and wheels underneath the excavator. The original of this bucket chain excavator is located in the »Ziegeleimuseum Erbs« near the city of Leipzig, Germany.
