    After trials had been undertaken with several self-unloading cars of various designs, the OOtn Oldenburg of type Orenstein & Koppel/KruppI were the first cars to be bought in large quantities. Classified as standard cars for coal, they were mainly used to supply power stations and heating plants and were used in unit trains for this purpose.
