    Prototype: After 1920, comprehensive chassis tests were performed with converted Prussian compartment coaches. The centre axle was removed and replaced with a truss. The tests confirmed that it was possible to omit the centre axle without worsening the running characteristics. After that, DRG only procured further reconverted Prussian compartment coaches in the twin-axle design.
