In 1980, following the delivery of the EW II unit wagon with the D 4219-4226, RhB put its latest series of luggage wagons into service. Today, together with EW I and II, they shape the image of the trains on the Albula line and the numerous regular network trains. In 2010, the vehicles, with the exception of the D 4224 accident, were converted into heating cars for Albula express trains - the modernized vehicles can be identified by the pantograph on the roof.
