Product Features and Details
VES-M Halle urgently needed high-speed locomotives with a speed of at least 160 km/h. Reconstructed from the 61 002 and the H 45 024, this magnificent DR locomotive with its 2300 mm driving wheels was not only an impressive machine, it is still the fastest operational steam locomotive in the world today. For the Bahn anniversary in 1985, this mighty representative of the Reichsbahn came to the West for the first time. During its planned service, the machine was painted in different shades of green. This was due to the fact that, contrary to the standard RAL colors for painting steam locomotives, the DR did not use a defined shade of green. It was mixed again and again by RAW Meiningen when painting 18 201. We are now producing this cult locomotive in the different colors as a high-quality brass model in different operating states.
