Prototype: The French Class 140-907's were given to France by the Germans after WWI, they were war repartation locomotives. The 140-907 were formerly German locomotives built by Krauss & Company in 1896. The 140-907's were considered one of the strongest new freight locomotives in Europe during the late 1800's. One of the unique characteristics of the 140-907 was that it was equipped with tandem dual compound cylinders. You will notice from the picture that the pistons are slightly tilted upward. With it's fine lines, gold boiler bands and Meticulous detailed pin striping this locomotive truly made a statement!
Model: Micro-Metakit's model is completely functional and highly detailed just like the prototype. The model has a functional boiler hatch and sprung loaded puffers. It also features a brush-less, ironless "Faulhaber" type motor, full cab interior detail and high quality paint finish. Model is now in stock. Only a small number were produced so quantites are very limited!
