Prototype: Express locomotive Class 110.3 of the German Federal Railroad (DB).

Model: Both ends propelled. Darkened wheel rims. Length over buffers: 76 mm. Used for express trains in long-distance travel.

The express locomotive class E 10 from the first new building program of the German Federal Railroads corresponded technically and optically first - up to the translation - to the slower goods train locomotive E 40. Starting from 1963 for long-distance traffic a high speed execution E 10,12 was built, which received a new body form, with aerodynamic design determined apart from improvements in the chassis and drive. The engineer's compartment was extended and adapted with the windschnittigen "buegelfalte" and a disguised buffer plank for higher speeds, arranged the lateral exhausts for continuous volume. This modern design received the regular E 10 designation with the starting operating number E 10,288 up to the last locomotive E10 510. Except for two prototypes designed to operate at 200 km/hr, the maximum speed for all E 10 to 150 remained limited to 160 km/h.

Limited One time series in 2005
