LS Models 3-part Supplement NIGHTJET EN470 Zurich-Hamburg ÖBB Set 3, Ep.VI
ÖBB Nightjet is a brand name for night trains that has been used by the Austrian Federal Railways (ÖBB) since the timetable change on December 11, 2016. Nightjet (NJ) has also been a type of train since December 2017. The design and name are essentially based on the Railjet design. However, the Nightjets are painted in midnight blue with a starry sky motif. In the first three months after its introduction, the number of passengers was already well above ÖBB's expectations. The ÖBB Nightjet essentially comprises the night trains of ÖBB, previously marketed under the name of their train type as EuroNight, as well as some of the City Night Line trains (CNL) operated by Deutsche Bahn until December 2016. Another part of the EN train routes that have been running under this name since 2016 is not operated by ÖBB, but by partner railways from Croatia (Hrvatske željeznice, HŽ), Hungary (Magyar Államvasutak, MÁV), Poland (Polskie Koleje Panstwowe, PKP) and Czech Republic (Ceské dráhy, CD) operated and managed. These are not referred to as ÖBB Nightjet, but as Nightjet partners.
