Product Features and Details
Prototype:
The Lokalbahn Aktien-Gesellschaft (LAG) purchased five two-axle electric locomotives for the line from Murnau to Oberammergau. These locomotives were equipped with a Tatzlager propulsion system and reached a maximum speed of 50 km/h. LAG 1 to 5 were classified as E 69 by the Reichsbahn when they were nationalized in 1938. There were significant differences between the individual designs.
E 69 05 "Adolphine": As the last procured and most powerful of the 5 LAG locomotives, it was put into service from 1930. It had considerably more powerful engines, a longer axle base and was also longer and heavier overall. As a result, its front ends were significantly taller and the overall impression was more massive. It was used especially for hauling heavy freight trains.
Until it was taken out of service in 1981, it did service on its main line without any problems and is now preserved as a museum locomotive at the "Bavarian Local Railroad Association".
