Product Features and Details
The terrain construction expanded polystyrene was originally developed for designers in industrial model construction. As a result of very small foam particles (in contrast to typical Styrofoam, for example) a nearly smooth surface is achieved. The forming is very simple with normal household tools:
The foam blocks can be easily cut to size and form with a simple saw or a large knife. Several plates can be joined with hot glue, wood glue or contact adhesive and then shaped further. Further refinement takes place with carving and hobby knives, chisel and sandpaper. If the surface is worked with a wire brush, one obtains a realistic sedimentary rock appearance very easily.
The surface is finished with modeler’s acrylic colors (like Busch 1702 to 1709) and "improved" with appropriate scatter materials. The easy construction and outstanding visual impression of the finished terrain forms speak for itself. The material also works very well in conjunction with the new Busch 7206 Terrain Construction System with Honeycomb Building Plates and 7207 the honeycomb plates. Detailed instructions for construction are included in the set.
