The East German Multicar company has an over 80-year history in the construction of vehicles and was denationalized promptly after the German reunification. Hako now owns it. The Multicar 26 was introduced on the Hannover IAA commercial vehicle show in 1992. It is based on the Multicar 25, over 100,000 of which had been built since its introduction in 1991. The newly redesigned cab has an extended windshield and dual windshield wipers. The interior features soundproofing trim and the fully adjustable swing seats for more driver comfort. Hydraulic systems are used for tipping the body. The Multicar uses a Volkswagen 1.9-liter, 4-cylinder diesel engine producing 54.4 hp and can reach a maximum speed of 80km/h (48 mph). The Multicar can be equipped with a variety of attachments and is suited to a wide variety of applications.
