    The only 18.7 metre long coaches were omnipresent and due to the large numbers produced also formed a large percentage of passenger train stock in the Class IV era. Trains with more than 10 coaches were not uncommon in conurbations. The coaches had 64 seats plus two folding seats at the opposite end to the handbrake, where there was also a toilet and storage space for bicycles and prams.
