The previously independent regional railways were 1920 the German Reichsbahn. One of the first acts of the Deutsche Reichsbahn was the standardization of all parts that were used in locomotives and cars, for example, in threads and fits -. But also in all modules. While in all the locomotives vehicles were designed, proven car designs were often revised so that all parts were exchanged against each other. The open wagons Om, which was developed from the association type A 10, was one of the first structures in so-called "interchange design". The proven main dimensions retained one. Most open cars were later to DB, where they were in 1951 classified as Om 21. In the 50s many of the cars were dismantled for a rebuilding program and built from the still usable parts new car with a higher payload. In 1961, however, 390 of these cars were still present. The last was in 1969 scrapped.
