Product Features and Details
The DRG allocated the Verbandsbauart covered freight cars - freight cars in a design standardised by the Deutsche Staatsbahnwagen-Verband (German Railway Wagon Association) - to the groupings "Kassel" and "München".
In the course of war preparations, the grouping "Karlsruhe" was also created in the 1930s. These cars had to have a handbrake and compressed air brake, had facilities for transporting passengers and were not permitted to be used internationally. During the Second World War, many cars were lost or remained with other state railways. The Deutsche Bundesbahn took over approx. 40,000 of them and from 1952 classified them as G10.
