Schenker's long- distance transport with Magirus front-linker The Schenker-trailer train looked exactly like this when he went on a spedition tour in the 1960s and 1970s. The great international logistics expert, whom Gottfried Schenker had founded in Vienna in 1872, had grown rapidly in the post-war years. The range of the Magirus 235 D once again stands for Schenker's major forwarding years, when the logistics company acquired a prestigious name throughout Europe, particularly in collective and general cargo transport as well as in the transport of goods. Especially the Schenker branch offices had prepared themselves for the individual requirements of their customers during those years. Schenker has long since found a connection to the logistics giant DB and takes over all services to road, water and air. For the first time, WIKING introduces the Magirus 235 D with a steel prism set-up, just as it was at Schenker. The front-steering generation of Magirus was presented at the IAA in 1963 and quickly became a part of numerous freight transport fleets thanks to the air-cooled, reliable Deutz engines. Particularly noticeable with the serial start was the stepped truck cabin, which offered the driver much more comfort for the demands of the time than the previous Magirus generation. The combination of historic WIKING shapes has resulted in a young, attractive representative of the 235 series - the fine print makes the truck train look authentic.
