Today Helmut Säuberlich is the last of the "old guard" of great photographers of the postwar years-DB. This book goes in the direction of black and white photographs that reflect difficult times, but also build a hope for a better future. When in 1950 the company introduced its new Agfa color paper process, Helmut Säuberlich was the first to train and operate by this method. Thus, the first color photograph of the DB were published in this beautiful picture book - together with other test images. Unique photographs are reminiscent of locomotives, trains, stations and routes that have been closed down long ago!
