With the newly designed models of the legendary VT 98 / VS 98 railbase of the German Federal Railroad, PIKO offers a further vehicle perfectly tailored to use on model railway main and secondary routes with many highlights. For the first time models are offered in large series of vehicles of the early construction series. The engine is driven by a powerful micro-motor which is equipped with flywheels in favor of perfect running characteristics and has a factory built buffer capacitor for optimal driving characteristics without sound interruptions. The drive acts on both axles of the traction unit. Drive and control cars can be coupled to each other via a short-circuit current kinematics. The lighting functions of both vehicles, including the lamps above the front seats, can be switched separately. The traction unit can also be used as a prime moving vehicle for the transport of individual goods wagons.
