Prototype: This BR 01.5 proved so satisfactory that the engines continued to be used for a long time to pull heavy express trains. However this was not their only use as the powerful engines were also useful for freight and passenger trains.
Model: The Piko BR01 is a nice quality model with extensive detail with the following features.
*Powerful motor w/ flywheel.
*Highly detailed spoked wheels.
*Some extra add-on pipes and ladders.
*Close coupling between locomotive and tender car.
*Very fine detailing on dome housing.
*Reproduction of the greasing points on the connecting rods.
