Model: The locomotive is of the 2-6-0 wheel arrangement. Both locomotive and tender are clad in a two-toned blue paint scheme, with highlights of red and real gold-plated trim. The locomotive offers not only smoke and directional “golden glow” LED headlights, but also spectacualar digital steam dound. Prototype: Early in the twentieth century, the Central Railroad of New Jersey set out to create a train offering a new level of luxury and comfort, whisking travelers rapidly to and from the resorts of Atlantic City. The result of these efforts was named The Blue Comet. To make this one-of-a-kind train completely unmistakable, all the cars and even the locomotive were decorated in an elaborate blue paint scheme. The normally assigned locomotive for the train was number 592, a Camelback-type loco, with the cab astride the boiler. The cars were lavishly appointed and offered personal service at each seat.
