Model: Print version of the BR 118 of the DR in four-axle design with two trim strips.

Prototype: The BR 118 of the German Reichsbahn was the largest diesel locomotive built in the GDR and was manufactured by the VEB Lokomotivbau "Karl Marx" in Potsdam-Babelsberg. The locomotive was developed with the wheelbase B'B 'to replace the outdated steam locomotives in the DR. After some pre-production locomotives took place in the years 1963 -1965 serial production. The locomotives received two twelve-cylinder diesel engines of 900 hp each. The BR 118 was used universally and carried both express trains and heavy freight trains. In 1995, the last copies left the operating service of DB AG. In some private railways, the robust locomotives are still in use today.
