Product Features and Details
Prototype:
The H02 high-pressure locomotives were built by Schwartzkopff-Loeffler in 1929. They were tested by the Reichsbahn and then put into express service. This was the highest pressure steam locomotive ever built, capable of boiler pressures over 120 BAR producing 2000 horse power, a remarkable accomplishment considering that other large steam locomotives only produced pressures of 14 BAR reaching 1600 horse pwer. The H02 reached speeds of over 120 Km/h, even while hauling extremely heavy express trains.
Model:
Producing this model was a real challenge. The most complicated, intricate piece Micro-Metakit has ever built. New technology was used due to the extensive boiler, frame and piping work. The manufacturing process required over 700 molds and 2,000 parts! The model features a functional three-cylinder drive, full cab interior, under frame braking systems, interior boiler detail and brushless, ironless can motor and many more.
