Model: The Gutzold 39360 electric locomotive BR 250 137-7 is a very impressive model with a massive metal frame. Model Details:
Prototype: In 1964 the development of a new heavy-duty Co'-Co' class 250 locomotive was started. It should replace the class 254/E94 engines. After extensive tests and small modifications, the locomotive was delivered to the DR in six batches starting in 1977. It was manufactured at LEW “Hans Beimler” in Hennigsdorf. Besides the heavy freight train and container train services the locomotives were used for passenger express train services. The weight of the locomotive was 123 t, the maximum speed was125 km/h. The last units were delivered to DR in 1983. Meanwhile the class 250 was renamed to class 155 and are in service at the DB.
