Prototype: The VT 12.5 is a former diesel multiple unit commissioned by the Deutsche Bundesbahn in 1953. They were commonly used with either two or three car configurations, using the VM 12 middle car and VS 12 driving van trailer. The VT 12.5 was used in regional traffic, with first and second class saloon seating. After decades of successful service they were finally taken out of commission in the mid 1980's.
Model: Fleischmann's new VT12.5 is an exquisite new model. Model has a powerfull can motor with flywheel, DCC digital sound, full interiors and directional white/red lights. Interior lights can also be installed in each coach. This is a great new model and it would make a nice addition to any collection.
