The development of a Heeresefeldbahn diesel locomotive began in 1937 on behalf of the Wehrmacht. Approximately 350 copies of the HF130C were made by different locomotive manufacturers. The 130 hp three-couplers (C) were powered by a jackshaft and rods and were equipped for gauges of 600-760 mm. Only 90% of all locomotives were delivered to the Wehrmacht. The remaining vehicles went eg to industrial companies. After the war, the machines were scattered across much of Central and Eastern Europe.
