In the early 1900's the Atlantic class steam locomotives were very popular with many European Railroads and used for express traffic. The 108 class was designed by the famous Austrian locomotive designer Karl Gölsdorf and first built in 1901, it was one of his most extra ordinary designs. The Austrian 108 was a highlight among steam locomotives. With it's technical design and unique appearance it was unmatched and considered to be the best proportional and balanced steam locomotive ever built.
