    Day 1, Thursday, January 27

    Chicago-Frankfurt
We are leaving Chicago late afternoon on your non-stop flight to Frankfurt. Cocktails and dinner will be served en route.

    Day 2, Friday, January 28

    Frankfurt-Berlin

One hour before landing they will serve breakfast. After checking through immigration and customs we will board our flight to Berlin. After checking into the hotel the afternoon is free for your own activities. We will meet for dinner at 7:30 and probably will call it a night after that.

    Day 3, Saturday, January 29

    Berlin-Loxx Miniature World

Loxx Miniatureland is one of the largest model train layouts in the world.  The layout is 30,000 square feet, which includes a replicated diorama of the city of Berlin.  The Berlin part of the layout includes heavy train traffic including S-Bahn, regional and long distance trains, a functional airport with planes taking off and landing and a functional car system.  Loxx will give you a long-lasting impression, that’s for sure. There is so much to see we will most likely stay there the entire day.  Since we will be in the heart Berlin you can also break away from the group and go shopping or sightseeing.

    Day 4, Sunday, January 30

    Berlin-Sightseeing

Yesterday we saw Berlin on a layout. Today we will tour the city by a sightseeing bus. Along that route we will pass the Alexanders Platz, the Dom, Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, Holocaust Memorial and the Museum Island. It the group decides to stay at one of the sights longer we can do that and just hop on the next bus. After this tour we will visit Berlin World War II Bunker system. A guided tour will explain how life was in those underground systems during the war.

    Day 5, Monday, January 31

    Berlin-Bad Doberan

Our bus will bring us to Bad Doberan. This town on the shores of the Baltic Sea is our starting point for our Narrow Gauge steam trip. The train will drive through the narrow streets of this quaint little town, along the shores, passing Europe’s oldest race track for horses, going through Heiligendamm Germany’s oldest sea spa to Kühlungsborn. We will try to get you also in the cab of the locomotive to experience that trip from a different angle.

    Day 6, Tuesday, February 01

    Berlin-Lichtenfels
Well our days in Berlin are over and today we will head to Bavaria. After we settle in our new hotel, we give you the rest of the day off to relax or do as you wish.

    Day 7, Wednesday, February 02

    Coburg-Meiningen

This is definitely a highlight of our tour. Meiningen is the only repair facility in Germany for steam locomotives. Even more surprising they built a brand-new steam locomotive for the narrow gauge line we were on just 2 days ago. There is not much more to say you have to see it yourself.

    Day 8, Thursday, February 03

    Toy Fair

The Toy Fair is surely the highlight of our tour. For any individual that likes toys, trains, Christmas ornaments or any hobby related products this fair is a must.  Visiting the Toy Fair is a rare opportunity, because it is not open to the public; our guests are allowed to visit the fair because we get them in as employees. The fair is treat for our eyes.  The manufactures booths are incredible with all the new products, all the layouts and dioramas – we will be like kids in a candy store.

    Day 9, Friday, February 04

    Toy Fair

Many of our quests requested a 2nd day at the Toy Fair. So here it is. For everybody else we will stay in Nürnberg this day and you can visit the transportation museum or any other sites. Some of you want to do some research at the transportation museum’s library. Let us know, what you are looking for an we can make arrangements to have those documents pulled ahead.

    Day 10, Saturday, February 05
