to get started in Model Trains? Need help in determining what gauge or
system. We recommend starting with one of our many Starter Sets. The best way to get started in model railroading is with a starter set. Starter sets are designed to give the beginner everything he needs to get going. They contain a locomotive, cars, track and accessories to quickly set things up and get those trains running. As far as cost, starter sets are really inexpensive because the manufactures love luring in new customers and as you know it is easy to get hooked on trains. If you have little space than we recommend starting with N-gauge or Z-gauge. These small trains offer a large verity of items to choose from and you can build a massive layout in very little space. HO gauge is the most popular; the manufactures really produce and cater to the HO line. HO gauge is the perfect size to appreciate the detail and running performance. Also many customers prefer running their trains digitally and HO makes the best sense for Digital operation. Smaller than HO but still with many options available, N Scale is a great option for those desiring a detailed layout with a smaller foot print. |
