A rare taxi: VW K70 as splendid taxi
These were the last taxis to be procured in black in Germany and they also marked the end of an era in the history of the taxi. For shortly after that, the taxi industry changed the colour of all its new vehicles to ivory white. Irrespective of this, the VW K70 which was launched in 1970 remained a rarity among taxi drivers as they were easily outnumbered by diesel-powered vehicles. And the angularity of the VW K70 never really appealed to private purchasers either. Body black (RAL 9005), interior anthracite grey (RAL 7016). Chassis with radiator grille and bumpers in silver grey. Silver door handles at the side, columns and window frames as well as rear boot frame. Signal yellow taxi sign on the roof.
