"Baby-Benz" revolutionized droschkenkultur
In 1983, WIKING presented the W 201, which had been scolded as a "baby-Benz", a year after Mercedes-Benz had sent it to the market. Today it is clear how far-sighted this strategic decision was to round off the space offer of the limousines with an independent series. The fact that it has never been a taxi for the 190 series at WIKING may well have been part of the long limousine tradition, which the traditional model builders in the program always had to cultivate again with every generation of vehicles. Now it is being fetched and the 190D is thus meeting many contemporary models, because the "baby-Benz" was in the 1980s, it was quite successful, the previously closed series of the E-Class to loosen up.
