The 1950s Mercedes-Benz Coupé with Aesthetics Charms
When the production of the 220 Coupé ended in November 1960, today's classic appraisal of appreciation could not be foreseen. With a total of only 2081 built vehicles, including 830 with an injection engine, the PontonCoupés are now among the rare models of the post-war Mercedes-Benz production. WIKING adopts the model from historical forms and designs it with a lot of detail fineness to a model builder. Thanks to the bicolor design and the color-contrasting flanks, the 1: 87 coupé achieves exactly that automobile charm that was so sought after by the end of the 1950s for its striking aesthetics. Body in light blue, roof in enzian blue with clear lacquer finishing. Chassis and grille painted chrome-plated. Wheels in light blue with decorative rings and Mercedes-Benz star. Frontside headlights and fog headlights hand-silvered. Side body flanks in perl-white contrast. Side trim strips and door handles as well as wheel arches in silver. Rear side Mercedes Benz star in silver, taillights in red.
