Product Features and Details
Prototype: In 1927 the DRG needed a new electric locomotive for moderate and fast express service. The German locomotive manufactures came up with the new class E17. A total of 38 electric locomotives were delivered in the first series. They were the first German electric express locomotives with the wheel arrangement 1D1. The locomotives were intended for use in Southern and Central Germany and were allocated to the depots in Leipzig. From 1933 they arrived at the depots in Stuttgart and Ulm and later were used in the Silesian network. Five of them were delivered to the Wroclaw depot.
