Prototype: The Re 4/4" is a proven multi-purpose locomotive of the SBB and was built from 1964 until 1985. With a total of 277 delivered locomotives it is the largest series of driving vehicles in Switzerland and is amongst the best known and most successful machines in the passenger and freight divisions. The Re 4/4" was modernized and refitted throughout several years. Some interesting versions of this shapely locomotive have been actualized at Roco.
