Prototype: Diesel multiple unit VT 11.5 of the German Federal Railways. 4-piece TEE multiple unit starter set that consists of two traction units (of which one is motorized), one compartment car and one buffet car. In the 1950s the DB aquired several Diesel multiple units for the high-quality passenger transport. The Diesel multiple unit consisted of two traction units, two compartment cars, one open seating car, one dining car and one buffet car. The heads of the trains wore a big TEE symbol.
