New edition of the powered rail-car commuter train with a different running number than used for the previous editon. From 1985 onwards, a total of 150 of these class 628 powered rail-car units were purchased. They were intended to replace the old "rail buses" and their top speed of 120km/h made them suitable for wide-spread use, even on main lines.
