The Da Electric Locomotive features a DCC Sound Decoder, can motor with flywheel, all metal frame, bi-directional prototypical lighting and all wheel drive. Model has extensive detail and great running performance. Version with sound decoder. Running noise is synchronized with the running speed; starting sound and horn can be switched separately. No sound is possible in the analog mode.
Prototype: In the years from 1953 to 1960 ASEA built 93 multi-purpose type-Da electric locomotives for the Swedish national railroad (SJ). These rod-driven electric locomotives with the 1'C1' axle sequence weigh 75 tons and have an output of 1840 kW; they run at 100 km/h and are doubleheading-capable. In the mid-Nineties several machines were sold to private Swedish railroads and are still being run by them.
