Origin of the first Ae 6/8 built at SLM with double-sided window bands, Small air inlets and 2 current collectors. Condition 1939 Swiss National Exhibition ?? Landi ?? in Zurich. With the subsequent conversions, the locomotives lost the old lettering in 1942/43 and received the BLS letters from chrome. 1954-56 a current collector was removed by extension of the brake resistors. 1961/62 the two middle windows were replaced by large nozzle grids on one side, and the four smaller fan blinds below the windows were replaced by small nozzle grilles.
